The UP12g can be fully compacted into airline-approved luggage. It's your ultimate large aperture GoTo travel telescope, weighing just 45 lbs fully assembled.
Our thin solid mirror reaches thermal equilibrium much faster than a traditional thick solid mirror, delivering great views even as temperatures change. No fan needed — eliminating micro-vibration that degrades image quality.
96% enhanced reflective coatings on both primary and secondary mirrors with precision-controlled dielectric layers. Maximum light throughput for bright, contrast-rich images on deep-sky targets.
Optimized 6-point flotation system with completely independent sling lateral support and collimation (with two convenient front-access collimation screws). Eliminates the potato-chip astigmatism found in simpler designs.
CNC-machined 6063-T6 aluminum alloy double-section truss tubes, solid CNC aluminum cell and structure. Finished with environmentally friendly black powder coating. Designed for maximum rigidity at minimum weight.
WiFi 802.11n with built-in website accessible from any browser. Bluetooth 4.2 classic support. Direct wireless support for Sky Safari and Stellarium.
iOS and Android apps for initialization, alignment, and GoTo control. Smart Hand Controller with ~30,000 objects database. Full scope control with slewing and GoTo movement.
INDI drivers (CdC, KStars, Ekos), ASCOM support (IP and Serial via LX200 protocol). Telescope encoders for extra pointing accuracy. Real Time Clock, 1-9 star alignment, Park/Unpark function, Sidereal/Lunar/Solar tracking, and spiral search.

The UP12g compacts fully into airline-approved luggage. Automated GoTo tracking with WiFi and Bluetooth means you can explore 30,000+ objects from the darkest skies on Earth.
A full 12-inch diameter optical surface (12.4" overall) — not a beveled 12" blank like competitors. That means about 5% more light-gathering power than any other 12" scope on the market.
At 45 lbs fully assembled, the UP12g weighs less than a third of traditional GoTo Dobsonians. The perfect balance between large aperture, automated tracking, and unbeatable portability.
With the UP12g, discerning most NGC objects from a dark sky site becomes feasible. Unveil subtle hints of color in bright emission nebulae like the Orion Nebula, vivid details in brighter planetary nebulae, and incredible detail on Jupiter. The UP12g stands as a telescope offering a lifetime of rewarding observational experiences.
